Jesus is my Bridegroom

Jesus is my Bridegroom.
I have been betrothed to Him in righteousness, judgment, loving kindness, and mercies.
I have been betrothed to Him in faithfulness.
He is preparing a place for me,
showing me that He will be faithful
to take care of me.
Sometimes I am unfaithful.
Sometimes I forget that He is coming,
get distracted by the things around me now,
and think they are enough.
But they are not enough.
Because I have a wedding to look forward to.
At that wedding feast, we will become one.
We will be in unity.
We will celebrate and dance
and I will be at peace.
Because I will look into those eyes and know
I am forever loved,
forever safe,
forever His.
And what comes next?
I have yet to find out.
You might say it's a surprise.
Because "eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him."
But happily ever after sounds
just about right.
